Intrastate authority (Indiana DOR Motor Carrier Services)
Intrastate for-hire carriers register with the Indiana Department of Revenue Motor Carrier Services division and file required insurance.
Weight limits
80,000 lbs gross standard; Indiana issues extra-heavy-duty highway permits and has specific rules for the Indiana Toll Road that differ from the general highway network.
Motor Carrier Fuel Tax (MCFT)
Indiana-only carriers not covered by IFTA must file the Motor Carrier Fuel Tax — a state-specific obligation that trips up new intrastate authorities.
Toll road accounts
